PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge unit which suppresses the generation of odor of ozone and attaches to an air conditioner body, and an air conditioner suppressing the generation of odor of ozone.
SOLUTION: A suction opening 11a of a centrifugal fan 11 has a maximum suction area M as part of an opening area, having a suction amount of the air more than that of the other area. A discharge device 17 has a releasing section 7 for releasing active species. In a mounted state on the air conditioner body 13, the releasing section 7 is disposed on a position with a rotating shaft 11c disposed between the releasing section and the maximum suction area M, when the discharge device 17 and the centrifugal fan 11 are observed from the upstream-side opening section 15a.
