PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a syringe capable of retaining a state of a gasket abutting on the bottom of an outer barrel and capable of releasing the state with simple operation.SOLUTION: The syringe 10 includes: a pair of projections 74 and 75 disposed in a plunger 3 to be engaged with a finger rest 4 in the barrel 2 and a locking means 8 for restraining the plunger 3 from moving in the axial direction of the barrel 2 as the pair of projections 74 and 75 are displaced in the radial direction of the barrel 2 and engaged with the finger rest 4 when the gasket 6 abuts to the bottom of the barrel 2.
