PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce labors of operators and to highly improve efficiency of a strut installation operation by enabling a strut installation operation from either of a larboard or a starboard of a boat in a strut installation apparatus for automatically carrying out the strut installation operation. SOLUTION: The strut installation apparatus 1 is loaded on a bow part of a hull. The apparatus is furnished with a frame 4 supported rotatably around a vertical shaft. The frame 4 consists of an outer cylinder 41 and an inner cylinder 42 movably inserted into the outer cylinder 41. A strut supporting mechanism 6 is arranged through a universal joint at the tip part of the inner cylinder 42. The frame 4 is rotated around the vertical shaft so that the strut supporting mechanism 6 is made movable between the larboard side and the starboard side and the strut installation operation can be carried out from either side.
