PURPOSE: An anti-inflammatory or antioxidative composition containing a Corylopsis coreana Uyeki leaf extract or a phenolic compound isolated from the extract is provided to ensure an antioxidative effect, to suppress NO generation, and to effectively prevent, treat, or alleviate inflammatory diseases. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing, treating, or alleviating inflammatory diseases contains a Corylopsis coreana Uyeki leaf extract or fraction as an active ingredient. The composition further contains 3-caffeoyl quinic acid methyl ester, 4-caffeoylquinic acid, 3-caffeoylquinic acid, 3-O-galloyl-beta-D-glucopyranoside, tellimagrandin II, datiscetin 3-O-beta-D-rhamnpyranoside, or myricetin 3-O-beta-D-rhamnopyranoside as an active ingredient. The vegetable phenolic compound is derived from Corylopsis coreana Uyeki leaves.본 발명은 히어리 (Corylopsiscoreana.Uyeki) 잎의 추출물, 분획물 또는 이들에서 분리한 페놀성 화합물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 항염증 또는 항산화 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 추출물, 분획물 및 페놀성 화합물은 자유라디칼 억제활성, 크산틴 옥시다제 수퍼옥시드 소거 활성에서 우수한 항산화 효과를 나타냈고, NO 생성을 억제하는 활성도 나타냄으로써 염증 질환의 예방, 개선 또는 치료에 매우 효과적이다.
