The present invention relates to an antiviral composition for human papillomavirus (HPV) type 16 comprising a stem extract of Cudrania tricuspidata as an active ingredient. The stem extract of Cudrania tricuspidata reduces the mRNA expression amount of E6 or E7 of HPV type 16 and induces apoptosis, thereby being usefully used as an antiviral composition for HPV type 16.본 발명은 꾸지뽕나무의 줄기 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 인유두종 바이러스(human papilloma virus, HPV) 16형 항바이러스 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 구체적으로 꾸지뽕나무의 줄기 추출물은 인유두종 바이러스 16형의 E6 또는 E7의 mRNA 발현량을 감소시키는 작용을 함으로써, 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 유도하므로 인유두종 바이러스 16형의 항바이러스 조성물로 유용하게 이용할 수 있다.
