The present invention relates to a vaporizing assembly (1) for an aerosol-generating system (20). The vaporizing assembly comprises a sheet heating element (2) and a delivery device (3) for delivering a liquid aerosol-forming substrate from a liquid storing portion (8) to the sheet heating element. The sheet heating element is spaced apart from the delivery device and is configured for heating the delivered liquid aerosol-forming substrate to a temperature sufficient to volatilize at least a part of the delivered liquid aerosol-forming substrate. The present invention further relates to an aerosol-generating system (20) comprising the vaporizing assembly (1).
