PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for detecting a fall of an indwelling needle capable of visually detecting whether the falling situation, where the tip of the indwelling needle is fallen out from a blood vessel, happens during administration of a liquid in the blood vessel of a patient by using the indwelling needle.SOLUTION: The apparatus includes: an indwelling needle assembly 2 having a light emitter 3 for generating light, and a tip 12B for passing the light L from the light emitter 3 into the inside and indwelling it in the blood vessel 100 and a light emitting driver 4 for generating the light L from the light emitter 3 as a sustained light emission and/or a pulse light emission.
