PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material that prevents pH of water from becoming strongly alkaline (e.g., 10.0 or more), can stably supply silicic acid, calcium and ferrum in the water, and eliminates the need for collection and facilitates management.SOLUTION: An algae growth promotion material contains a calcium silicate-containing material, humic substances, an iron compound and an oxidation inhibitor. Preferably, the calcium silicate-containing material may contain one kind or more selected from a group comprising tobermorite, xonotlite, CSH gel, foshagite, gyrolite, hille brandeite and wollastonite. Preferably, the humic substance may contain one kind or more selected from the group comprising a humic acid, a fulvic acid and a humin.
