PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation for oral administration with improved swallowing property, and/or a coating composition used for easily swallowable preparation that does not affect eluting property.SOLUTION: There is provided a coating composition containing a first thickener selected from the group consisting of carboxyvinyl polymer and sodium alginate, a polyvalent metal compound, and at least one or more kinds of second thickener selected from the group consisting of xanthan gum, guar gum and sodium alginate (note that second thickener is not sodium alginate when first thickener is sodium alginate), or a coating composition in which the thickener contains hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, and sugar or sugar alcohol having solubility of 30 or more at 20°C.
