Use of 4'-substituted nucleosides of formula (I), wherein B signifies a 9-purinyl or 1-pyrimidinyl residue, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of diseases mediated by the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). The preferred compounds for the aforementioned use are 4'-C-ethynylcytidine hydrochloride (1:1), 4'-C-ethoxycytidine, 4'-C-acetylcytidine and 4'-C-azidocytidine.Use of 4'-substituted nucleosides of formula (I), wherein B signifies a 9-purinyl or 1-pyrimidinyl residue, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of diseases mediated by the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV).
