PURPOSE: A posture corrector and a method of correcting body posture using the same are provided to help a user to maintain normal postures, to facilitate the body posture correction and to prevent and treat postural diseases. CONSTITUTION: A posture corrector includes: a posture detector(110) which detects the information about user's posture； a posture distinguishing unit(120) which discriminates the posture abnormality after receiving a signal transmitted from the posture detector； and a reporting part(130) which informs a user of whether the posture abnormality is generated with the discriminated information. The posture detector is installed to be symmetrical about the user's body and comprises first and second sensors outputting a signal with position information.본 발명은 자세 교정기 및 이를 이용한 자세 교정 방법에 관한 것으로서, 신체의 특정 위치에 대한 정보를 검출하거나, 신체의 왼발과 오른발에 의해 각각 지지되는 하중을 검출하는 자세검출부와, 자세검출부로부터 출력되는 신호를 수신받아 특정 위치의 정보 또는 왼발과 오른발의 하중으로부터 자세의 이상 여부를 판별하는 자세판별부와, 자세판별부로부터 판별된 자세의 이상을 알리는 결과통보부를 포함한다. 따라서, 본 발명은 휴대용뿐만 아니라 의료 기기로서의 컴퓨터용으로 사용될 수 있고, 평소에 주의하기 어려운 자세의 이상을 실시간으로 알려주어 정상적인 자세의 유지에 도움을 주도록 할 뿐만 아니라 자세의 이상 여부를 간편하게 진단할 수 있으며, 자세의 교정이 용이하도록 할 뿐만 아니라 척추 질환을 비롯한 자세성 질환의 예방 및 치료에 우수한 효과를 가진다.
