An improved mousetrap apparatus comprising: a platform including a top surface； a spring； a hammer； a hold down bar； an improved catch member having a catch platform； an attachment member； and at least one elongated strap member including a proximal end and a distal end. The improved mousetrap apparatus is structured and arranged to function as a bait holder such that a rodent may not easily remove the bait from a mouse trap.
