PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method capable of quantitatively evaluating performance of character input to a terminal device.SOLUTION: An evaluation method comprises a procedure of evaluating character input performance for a terminal device by using a multiple regression equation with an objective variable which is the number of characters inputted in the terminal device by a subject, and explanatory variables which are a deviation from a vertical movement of a thumb of a subjects hand carrying the terminal device and an angular velocity integral value of a first joint of the thumb. In particular, the method comprises a procedure of measuring biometric information of the subject and the number of characters.
