PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating crops, effective for growth and control of crops, especially of tea plants.SOLUTION: This method for cultivating crops includes: a cutting process for cutting crops； a moisture control process for controlling evaporation or absorption of moisture at the section obtained by the above cutting； and a coating process that applies the chemical to the above section after the moisture control process. In the moisture control process, preferably moisture is controlled so that a difference in the water activity of the above section is 0.09 to -0.15 afrom the water activity of a part outside of the above section in a region containing the above section.
