PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double bearing reel that enables an operation from throwing-in of a line to winding to be significantly simplified, and enables even a beginner to operate a brake mechanism reliably.SOLUTION: A double bearing reel includes a drive mechanism 10, a clutch mechanism 20, and a drag mechanism 30. A brake mechanism 40 is provided for generating a brake at the time of free rotation of a spool 3. An operation lever 6 is provided for operating on/off switching of the brake mechanism 40 and engaging/disengaging switching of the clutch mechanism 20. The operation lever 6 is bent and extended onto a line L wound on the spool 3. When the brake mechanism 40 is actuated by the operation lever 6, the clutch mechanism 20 is disengaged.
