Accordingly, there are provided coated microcapsules including: a microcapsule including a polymeric shell and a liquid core material encapsulated therein； and a metallic coating surrounding said microcapsule, wherein the metallic coating includes particles of a first metal adsorbed on said polymeric shell and a film of a second metal formed thereon； wherein the particles of the first metal are adsorbed on said polymeric shell by contacting the polymeric shell with a reducing agent and a solution comprising ions of the first metal, thereby reducing said ions and forming particles of the first metal adsorbed on said polymeric shell； method and formulations related thereto are also provided.L'invention concerne des microcapsules enrobées comprenant : une microcapsule comprenant une coque polymère et une substance de cœur liquide encapsulée à l'intérieur de ces dernières； et un enrobage métallique entourant ladite microcapsule, l'enrobage métallique comprenant des particules d'un premier métal adsorbées sur ladite coque polymère et un film d'un second métal formé sur ces dernières； les particules du premier métal étant adsorbées sur ladite coque polymère par la mise en contact de la coque polymère avec un agent réducteur et une solution comprenant des ions du premier métal, ce qui permet de réduire lesdits ions et de former des particules du premier métal adsorbées sur ladite coque polymère.
