A non-locking suture clip is disclosed. It comprises a plug having a head (64) and a shaft (68) extending distally from the head. The shaft has a first diameter and the head has a second diameter greater than the first diameter. The non-locking suture clip also comprises a ring (60) having an inner annular wall defining a through aperture extending from a proximal end to a distal end of the ring. The through aperture has an aperture diameter greater than the first diameter and insertion of the shaft into the through aperture forms an axial vacancy between the shaft and the annular wall that is adapted to receive a suture (80) therein.
