Chinese Cabbage BrUGE1 Gene Encoding UDP-Glucose-4-Epimerase Having Activity of Increasing Drought Tolerance and Tolerance to Sugar Toxicity in Plant and Use of the Gene for Preparing Transgenic Plant
The present invention relates to an UGE1 gene derived from Chinese cabbage which can improve drought resistance, resistance to sugar toxicity, or yield in a plant body and uses thereof. A transformed plant which an UGE1 gene derived from Chinese cabbage was introduced to the inside of the plant had improved drought resistance and resistance to sugar toxicity and the yield was also certainly increased. Accordingly, an UGE1 gene of the present invention is used for enhancing drought resistance and resistance to sugar toxicity in plants, especially in crops and increasing yield at the same time.본 발명은 식물체내에서 내건성, 당 독성에 대한 내성, 또는 수확량을 향상시킬 수 있는 배추유래 UGE1 유전자 및 이의 용도에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 배추 유래 UGE1 유전자를 식물체내에 도입시킨 형질전환 식물체는 내건성 및 당 독성에 대한 내성이 향상되었으며, 수확량도 확실히 증가한 결과를 보였다. 따라서, 본 발명의 UGE1 유전자는 식물체 특히 농작물에서 내건성과 당 독성에 대한 내성을 증진시키는 동시에 수확량을 증대시킬 수 있는 용도로 사용이 가능하다.
