PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object holding device and a fixing method of a roof material, allowing the roof material to be more firmly fixed against stress in the horizontal direction and the vertical direction caused by strong wind or the like.SOLUTION: An object holding device includes: a first member 40 having a nut 9 with a female screw, a first body 20 in which the nut 9 can be accommodated, and a first presser part 30 which is combined with the first body 20 at one end of the first body 20; and a second member 7 having a second body 5 with a male screw 5a to be screwed to the female screw, and a second presser part 6 which is rotatably fixed to the second body 5 and allows an object to be held in combination with the first presser part 30. Screwing the male screw 5a in the female screw allows the first presser part 30 and the second presser part 6 to come close to each other. The material of the first body 20 has a lower thermal conductivity than a metal.
