PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sea tangle cutting method capable of making a cut surface neat when further secondarily cutting to a desired length, sea tangle which is harvested or collected, and firstly cut to a prescribed length of about 1 m, and greatly reducing occurrence of broken pieces when cutting, and to provide a sea tangle cutting apparatus.
SOLUTION: This sea tangle cutting method includes subjecting firstly cut sea tangle in a dry condition to softening treatment by heating with far-infrared radiation ray in a heating part 10, and secondarily cutting the softening-treated sea tangle in a cutting part 30 to a desired length.
