The present invention relates to compositions and methods for inducing an immune response to a Streptococcus pneumoniae(Streptococcus pneumoniae). More particularly, the compositions and methods relate to immunogenic polypeptides comprising fragments of PcpA and variants thereof, and to nucleic acids, vectors and transfected cells encoding or expressing the polypeptides.
