Provided herein are therapeutic prodrug compositions that are associated with cell proliferative disorders, including cancer cells, such as prostate cancer, liver cancer or breast cancer cells, in a patient. Can be delivered to the patient via an injectable emulsion containing a therapeutic drug linked to a peptide that is efficiently and specifically cleaved by a given protease. Also provided herein are methods for treating cell proliferative disorders, including cancer, using this therapeutic prodrug composition.
