The present invention provides a method and device for non-invasive anatomical and systemic cooling. The method and device provide for cooling of various bodily fluid-containing spaces or surfaces, such as mucus-containing spaces or surfaces via delivery of a dry fluid not including a coolant into or upon the mucus-containing space or surface. Exposure of such mucus to the dry fluid results in evaporation and cooling of the anatomical feature and/or systemic cooling, as intended. In this fashion, therapeutic hypothermia may be achieved to provide for neuroprotection of various organs after ischemic insult, such the brain after cardiac arrest.La présente invention porte sur un procédé et un dispositif pour un refroidissement anatomique et systémique non invasif. Le procédé et le dispositif assurent le refroidissement de différents espaces ou surfaces contenant un fluide corporel, telles que des espaces ou surfaces contenant un mucus par l'intermédiaire de l'administration d'un fluide sec ne comprenant pas d'agents refroidissants dans ou sur l'espace ou la surface contenant le mucus. L'exposition d'un tel mucus au fluide sec conduit à une évaporation et à un refroidissement de l'élément anatomique et/ou à un refroidissement systémique, tel que prévu. De cette manière, une hypothermie thérapeutique peut être obtenue pour assurer la neuroprotection de différents organes après une lésion ischémique, tel que le cerveau après un arrêt cardiaque.
