PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling driving and steering of a combine and a method thereof are provided to directly link a motor to HST(Hydrostatic Transmission), thereby reducing control errors and rapidly responding to the control by the motor.CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling drive and steering of a combine comprise a control unit, an operation lever, a potentiometer, an A/D(Analog to Digital) convert unit, a control motor(31), a storage unit, a hydraulic transmission(33), and a coupler(32). The operation lever mechanically manipulates a motion of driving or steering. The potentiometer converts the mechanical displacement of the operation lever into an electric signal to be delivered to the control unit. An A/D convert unit converts the output signal from the potentiometer. The control motor includes an engaging portion(311) formed in front and a position sensor(35). The storage unit stores basic commands for controlling the motor according to the positioning by the operation lever related programs, and related data. The hydraulic transmission includes a combining portion(331) at one side.
