<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block for civil engineering structure capable of expanding a greening area of a plant while securing a primary function of shore protection. <；P>；SOLUTION: The block 7 for the civil engineering structure is formed to have a polygonal shape in a plan view, and a plurality of side faces 8aa constituting the whole peripheral surface are covered with a fiber layer 16. The fiber layer 16 is made to function as a rooting base of the plant so that the plant can grow around each block 7 arranged on the slope surface 2. On the other and, when a plurality of the blocks 7 for the civil engineering structure are arranged side by side on the slope surface 2, side faces of each block 7 are arranged to face side faces 8aa of other adjacent blocks by utilizing that the blocks 7 for the civil engineering structure have polygonal shapes in a plan view, most of the slope surface 2 can be covered with the blocks 7 by oppositely arranging the side faces 8aa of the blocks 7 for the civil engineering structure with respect to the side faces of the blocks 7 for the civil engineering structure. <；P>；COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
