PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium having characteristics such as improved water retentivity and air permeability, enabling roots to absorb cations of nutriment dissolved in water in the medium easily, and facilitating the control of flexibility. SOLUTION: The medium composed of a base for the medium which is a mixed system of an assembly of thin and short fibers and soil is regulated so that (1) the content of the assembly of the thin and short fibers is 10-45 pts.wt. to 90-55 pts.wt. of soil in the mixed system of the base of the medium, and (2) soil composed of soil particles having a negative charge is included in the medium.
