An apparatus of processing a medical image is disclosed. The apparatus includes a data acquiring part for acquiring raw data generated by photographing an object； and a processing part which determines a motion correction parameter used for reconstructing an image to be used for acquiring motion information based on the motion characteristic of the object, acquires motion information using the reconstructed image based on the determined motion correction parameter, and reconstructs a tomographic image from the raw data using the motion information. It is possible to reduce motion artifacts in the medical image.대상체를 촬영하여 생성된 로 데이터(raw data)를 획득하는 데이터 획득부； 및 대상체의 움직임 특성에 기초하여, 움직임 정보를 획득하는데 이용할 영상의 재구성에 사용되는 움직임 보정 파라미터를 결정하고, 결정된 움직임 보정 파라미터에 기초하여 재구성된 영상을 이용하여 움직임 정보를 획득하고, 움직임 정보를 이용하여 로 데이터로부터 단층 영상을 재구성하는 처리부를 포함하는 의료 영상 처리 장치가 개시된다.
