A method for assessing a subject perception of a stimulus property, comprising: applying to a subject at least a first sensory stimulus having a first value for the stimulus property and a second sensory stimulus having a second value for the stimulus property different from the first value requesting the subject to identify a characteristic of the first and second sensory stimuli during the application thereof, the characteristic being unrelated to the stimulus property to be assessed, thereby focusing an attention of the subject on a decision making task measuring an activity of at least one brain region of the subject during the application of the first and second sensorial stimuli and the identification of the characteristic thereof, thereby obtaining a brain activity measurement and determining a difference of stimulus property perceived by the subject between the first and second sensory stimuli from the brain activity measurement.Linvention concerne un procédé pour évaluer une perception par un sujet dune propriété de stimulus, comprenant : lapplication à un sujet dau moins un premier stimulus sensoriel ayant une première valeur pour la propriété du stimulus et dun second stimulus sensoriel ayant une seconde valeur pour la propriété du stimulus différente de la première valeur la requête auprès du sujet pour identifier une caractéristique des premier et second stimuli sensoriels pendant leur application, la caractéristique nétant pas associée à la propriété du stimulus à évaluer, en concentrant ainsi une intention du sujet sur une tâche de prise de décision la mesure dune activité dau moins une région cérébrale du sujet pendant lapplication des premier et second stimuli sensoriels et lidentification de sa caractéristique, en obtenant ainsi une mesure dactivité cérébrale et la détermination dune différence de propriété de stimulus perçue par le sujet entre le premier et second stimuli sensoriels à partir de la mesure dactivité cérébrale.
