Disclosed is a method to estimate the onset time of an infarct area based on a brain image. The estimating method includes the following steps of: acquiring brain images； extracting a quantitative value set which changes according to the onset time of an infarct area from the infarct area included in the brain images； and making the quantitative value set correspond to the onset time of the infarct area by using a corresponding relation arranged to make the quantitative value set correspond to the onset time of the infarct area.본 개시는 뇌(brain) 영상들이 획득되는 단계； 뇌 영상들에 포함된 경색 영역(infarct region)으로부터 경색 영역의 발생 시점(onset time)에 따라 변하는 정량적 값 집합이 추출되는 단계； 그리고 정량적 값 집합을 경색 영역의 발생 시점에 대응시키도록 마련된(prepared) 대응 관계(corresponding relation)를 사용하여, 정량적 값 집합이 경색 영역의 발생 시점에 대응되는 단계；를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 뇌 영상에 기반한 경색 영역의 발생 시점의 추정 방법에 관한 것이다.
