PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of preventing signal degradation of a region of interest, inhibiting an increase in artifacts by an FID (Free Induction Decay) signal, having little dependency on an image type and a measurement condition and capturing images with few problems such as SAR (Specific Absorption Rate).SOLUTION: An artifact superimposed on a region of interest to become an obstacle in a diagnosis is moved to an extended FOV (Field Of View) necessary for imaging and apparently suppress an artifact. After a position of magnetic field distortion before turning back and a position of the imaging FOV are acquired in an advance measurement, when the artifact appears on the region of interest, the artifact is moved to the extended FOV, or when a photographer visually recognizes the artifact on the region of interest, the artifact is moved.
