PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder of little empty weight which allows guidance of a load object received without using a force while moving a support arm by a rotary joint of a holding unit.SOLUTION: A holder suitable for medical optical equipment 107 in particular has a support arm for receiving load object. The support arm is rotatably supported by a holding unit 102 by a first rotary joint 103. A holder includes a means 120 for generating force in the longitudinal direction operating on the support arm so as to compensate a load torque generated by the first rotary joint of the support arm.
