GEL FORMULATED FROM A MIX OF EXTRACTS OF FUCUS VESICULOSUS AND ASCOPHYLLUM NODOSUM BROWN ALGAE AND ITS USE AS AN AUXILIARY MEDICINE TO CONTROL DIABETES AND ELABORATION METHOD.
The present disclosure is related to a gel formulated from a mixture of extracts of the Fucus vesiculosus and Ascophyllum nodosum brown algae, which is used as an auxiliary and supportive medication for people with diabetes, due to the antioxidant activity of its polysaccharides, as well as the presence of its phlorotannins and polyphenols that inhibits a-glucosidase. People with diabetes orally ingest this gel before their meals, preferably three times a day, decreasing the glucose assimilation. In addition to the latter, the presence of sulfated polysaccharides that, due to their high antioxidant capacity, avoid oxidative stress to a certain extent.La presente invención muestra un gel formulado de una mezcla de extractos de las algas pardas Fucus vesiculosus y Ascophyllum nodosum algas pardas el cual dicho gel se usa como un medicamento auxiliar y de apoyo en las personas con diabetes debido a la actividad antioxidante que presentan sus polisacáridos, así como también a la presencia de sus florotaninos y polifenoles que inhiben a la a-glucosidasa. Las personas con diabetes ingieren, vía oral, este gel antes de sus comidas, preferentemente tres veces al día antes de ingerir sus alimentos. Lo cual disminuye la asimilación de la glucosa. Aunado a esto, la presencia de polisacáridos sulfatados que por su alta capacidad antioxidante evitan en cierta medida el estrés oxidativo.
