La estructura inferior es auto portante, permitiendo el reposo del objeto en el lecho del canal de agua mientras que la estructura superior es fijada a la estructura inferior permitiendo el ingreso de agua al contenedor. La superficie generada por la red acoplada en la estructura superior posee una morfología curva en forma de embudo que permite el redireccionamiento del flujo de agua hacia el interior del contenedor permitiendo el ingreso de alimento para las especies contenidas.
