A medical manipulator (10) includes a trigger lever (36) that is operated by hands, a shaft (18) that extends from a body in which the trigger lever (36) is provided, a tip operating unit (12) that is provided at a tip of the shaft (18) and includes an end effector (300) to which the operation of the trigger lever (36) is mechanically transmitted and in which the operation is performed, and a detection mechanism (400) that detects an operation state of the trigger lever (36).
