PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire capable of preventing the guide wire from straying into a branched blood vessel from a mainstream blood vessel.SOLUTION: The medical guide wire has a bending part 5 on the distal end side. The distal end side of a wire body 3 is bent so that the distal end of the wire body 3 is returned to the proximal end side of the wire body 3, and the vicinity of the distal end solid-crosses the wire body at an acute angle as seen from the top. The medical guide wire with the bending part 5 on the distal end side has the bending part 5, which projects in one direction of a first plane P1 parallel to the shaft center of the wire body 3 and which is bent in such a way that the distal end side gradually separates from a second plane P2 orthogonally crossing the first plane P1 and parallel to the shaft center.
