PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial composition for an aqueous composition containing a reductant, capable of protecting the aqueous compositions containing the reductant such as polymer emulsion from decay caused by microorganism such as bacteria and fungus for a long period of time by addition of a small amount of it.SOLUTION: An antimicrobial composition for aqueous composition contains polyhexamethylene biguanide or its salts, and one or more isothiazolone compound represented by the general formula (1) as essential components.
