PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for measuring biological information which acquire biological information while reducing noises by simple processing and reducing power consumption.SOLUTION: The apparatus for measuring biological information Sa includes a sensor section 1 for measuring a predetermined physiological phenomenon of a living body which is a measurement object and outputting measurement data, a histogram calculating section 35 for calculating a first histogram on the basis of the measurement data measured by the sensor section 1, and a statistic parameter calculating section 37a for acquiring a predetermined statistic parameter in the first histogram acquired by the histogram calculating section 35. The apparatus for measuring biological information acquires a second histogram on the basis of the first histogram acquired by the histogram calculating section 35 and the predetermined statistic parameter calculated by the statistic parameter calculating section 37a, and acquires predetermined biological information on the basis of the second histogram.
