PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the gear shift operation of a gear shift mechanism in a parking brake condition and eliminates the possibility of troubles e.g. movement of the vehicle body during a gear shift operation.SOLUTION: A traveling vehicle for work includes a main gear shift lever 41 which executes a shift operation of a main transmission mechanism consisting of a continuously variable transmission mechanism, a sliding mesh-type auxiliary transmission mechanism 18 or a spacing transmission mechanism 22 which is provided in the transmission downstream of the main transmission mechanism 8 and changes gear of travel power or work motive power, a parking brake mechanism 50 which locks a brake pedal 40 selectively at the step-in position and a main transmission neutral reset mechanism 66 which resets the main shift lever 41 to the neutral position in response to a step-in operation of the brake pedal 40.
