The invention relates to a heel cup (24) which can be inserted into a shoe in order to define a posterior upward projection (21) and lateral wings (22) which surround the posterior and lateral faces of the calcaneum (4) and which, by means of lateral notches (18), define a preferential deformation zone at, and in the direction of, the subtalar cone (12) of the tibiotarsal joint. Moreover, a sufficiently-rigid connecting zone (21b) connects the posterior upward projection (21) and the lateral wings (22), thereby providing the shoe with good stability while enabling inversion and eversion foot movements.
