This invention is directed to an absorbable, nitrogenous copolyester composition based on more than 50 percent of ε-caprolactone-derived repeat units, having a number average molecular weight of more than ≧30 kDa and its use as (1) an absorbable coating for stents which may also contain a bioactive compound at ≧10 percent loading (2) an absorbable suture or mesh and similar devices and (3) plugs for blocking the end of seed needles used in radiation therapy.
