The present invention provides a composition for producing an enteric capsule shell, which comprises an enteric polymer soluble in water, a water-soluble film forming polymer, an aggregating agent and a coagulant aid. The enteric polymer soluble in water comprises at least one hydrophobic functional group and at least one hydrophilic functional group. This invention also provides a preparation method of an enteric capsule shell, wherein the aforesaid composition is dissolved in water and heated and cooled to obtain a capsule shell preparatory liquid, a soaking needle is immersed in the capsule shell preparatory liquid and then removed and dried to obtain an enteric capsule shell.
