PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformed plant useful for utilizing wooden biomass, in which the quantitative character of secondary cell wall of woody fiber cells is improved and secondary cell wall formation is suppressed.SOLUTION: Provided is a transformed plant in which secondary cell wall formation of woody fiber cells is suppressed by transforming the plant using a nucleic acid encoding VNI2 under the control of NST3 promoter.
