Use of an aqueous disinfectant comprising at least a peroxide compound, at least an organic solvent comprising an aliphatic alcohol and/or aliphatic ether, acetic acid, surfactant and chelating agent, for air disinfection and/or air germ reduction, is claimed, where the concentration of peroxide compound, surfactant and chelating agent is less than 10 wt.%, less than 0.1 wt.% and less than 0.1 wt.%, respectively. An independent claim is included for use of a disinfectant for disinfection of air, where the aqueous disinfectant is applied in the air in a concentration of 0.01-50 ml aqueous disinfectant per m 3>；air per hour in the form of an aerosol.
