Biopsy systems include introducers and biopsy devices. The introducer comprises a cannula and at least two leaves. The cannula includes an oval cross section, an open circular tip and an open proximal end. The ovoid cross-section forms a lumen extending between the open distal end and the open proximal end. The ovoid cross section of the cannula includes at least two flat sides. At least two leaves extend in the distal direction from the open circle extremity. At least a portion of each of the at least two leaves extends from a respective flat side of at least two planar sides of the cannula. The biopsy device includes a body and a long needle. The elongated needle extends distally from the body. The elongated needle includes an oval cross section defining two straight sides.
