The present invention relates to a resorbable implant material made frommagnesium ora magnesium alloy and to a method for producing said resorbable implantmaterial. Adisadvantage of known resorbable implants is that the resorption thereofhitherto could betracked only by means of x-ray or CT examinations. According to the invention,a resorbableimplant material is provided which comprises fluorescent nanodiamondshomogeneouslydistributed in a matrix of magnesium or a magnesium alloy. Fluorescentnanodiamonds areharmless to the organism and provide stable emission in the near-infraredrange because ofnitrogen vacancies (nitrogen-vacancy centers, N-V centers). This enables thedetection of theimplant material in the blood plasma of the patient. According to theinvention, the resorbableimplant material according to the invention is produced by a method in whichmagnesium or amagnesium alloy is melted, nanodiamonds are added to the melt, and the melt ofmagnesium ora magnesium alloy provided with nanodiamonds is subjected to an ultrasoundtreatment.
