PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter facilitating insertion and removal with respect to the inside of a patient's body and capable of suppressing an occurrence of a deflation error.SOLUTION: A balloon catheter 1 includes: a tube 2 in which a fluid lumen 2c for passing a fluid F for balloon inflation is formed and a first long hole 2d and a second long hole 2e communicating from an external surface 2a to the fluid lumen 2c are formed； and a balloon 3 that is fixed to the tube 2 in such a state as to enclose the first long hole 2d and the second long hole 2e such that the balloon is inflated by the fluid F flowing therein from the first long hole 2d and the second long hole 2e and is deflated by the fluid F discharged therefrom via the first long hole 2d and the second long hole 2e to the fluid lumen 2c.
