Disclosed is an immunogenic composition to detect a yeast cell wall component in a feed product, wherein said composition comprises (1&rarr4)-&alpha-/(1&rarr6)-&bgr-D-glucan covalently linked to a protein through a C6 atom of the carbohydrate. Also disclosed is a composition to detect a yeast cell wall component in a feed product, wherein said composition comprising an antibody capable of binding to a yeast cell wall carbohydrate selected from the group consisting of (1&rarr4)-&alpha-/(1&rarr6)-&bgr-D-glucan, wherein the binding occurs by covalent linkage through a C6 atom of the carbohydrate.
