An antibacterial resin composition comprising a thermoplastic resin or a thermosetting resin blended with at least one kind of fatty acid metal salt selected from Ag, Cu, Zn, Co and Ni, and a compound represented by the following formula (2):wherein M′ is any one of Na, K or H, and X is an atom selected from C, O, S and P, or an atomic group thereof.
