PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of precisely extracting an area belonging to a predetermined constitution section from the image of a patient, and an image processing method and an image processing program.
SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is provided with an image acquisition part which acquires a cross section image crossing a predetermined direction within the patient belonging to a predetermined group a division estimation part which estimates the belonging division of the cross section image acquired by the image acquisition part on the basis of a radiographic feature of a cross section crossing the predetermined direction, in each of the plurality of divisions arranged in the predetermined direction obtained by dividing the patient by a structural feature common to the predetermined group and an area search part which searches an area in which the cross section at a predetermined constitution section out of various kinds of constitution regions constituting the patient has a radiographic feature equivalent to the feature of the division estimated by the division estimation part about the cross section image acquired by the image acquisition part.
