PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus and a measurement method for informing a user of a position suitable for a measurement.
SOLUTION: A CPU 18 calculates a spatial distance between two intersections among the intersections between a surface and a plane for approximating the surface on the basis of curvature information on the surface of an object. An image signal processing circuit 12 generates a display signal for displaying a marker for indicating a width as the spatial distance between two intersections on an image based on an image signal. The CPU 18 calculates a spatial coordinate of a point designated on the image, and calculates a spatial distance between the spatial coordinate of one point and a plane defined by at least three spatial coordinates.
